As per the reports, India has resumed the issuance of e-visas for Canadian tourists and business travellers after a two-month suspension. This decision follows tensions triggered by Ottawa’s allegations of possible Indian Government involvement in the murder of a Canadian Sikh separatist leader.
As per an anonymous official from the Indian Government, the resumption of e-visa services for Canadian nationals is seen as a stop toward easing tensions between the countries. The official further noted that a significant improvement in bilateral relations should not be anticipated immediately.
