Canada’s announcement last week about an immediate cap on international students have alarmed Indian students planning to head to the country for their higher education.
Canada, a favourite among immigrants, has been knows for its easy policies, wide acceptance rates and abundant opprtunities. However, international student study visa issuance has been temporarily capped by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). As per the data disclosed by the IRCC, it is projected that the cap for 2024 will result in roughly 360,000 authorised study permits, which represents a 35% reduction from the 2023 estimates.
