Canada investor program achieves record target
In the year 2015, the Quebec investor program accepted over 5000 investors. The earlier record was of the year 2012 when 4436 investors were accepted under the program.
The continued popularity of the program is mainly due to:-
a) the program’s requirements being clearly defined and
b) fairly short processing times with a clear path to Canadian citizenship.
The primary requirements to qualify under the Quebec Investor program are:
- Have a legally acquired personal net worth of $1.6 million CAD;
- Possess two years of suitable management or business experience within the five years preceding the application;
- Commit to making an investment of $800,000 CAD into a passive government guaranteed investment for a period of five years bearing no interest.
- An alternative financing option is also available with a one time contribution in the amount of US$170,000 (varies based on current exchange CAD to USD exchange rates);
- Intend to settle in the province of Quebec.
